FAQ

Frequently asked.

Using the screener? What to type, what a verdict means and ideas to try are in the screener FAQ.

  • What does Waypoint Quant do?

It tests trading ideas before anyone trades them. You describe a futures idea, within the day or held for days, and it runs against tick data through a fixed stack of gates written down before the run. A position held overnight can open beyond its stop, so a loss can be larger than the stop you set. Your first screen is free; Pro ($29 a month) and Pro Max ($59 a month) show the numbers behind every verdict.

  • Do I need a particular trading platform?

No. The screen runs here, on our data, and works whatever platform you trade on. Nothing is installed on your computer and nothing connects to your broker or your account.

  • Can I change the rules?

Screen the changed version first. A different stop, clock or confirmation is a different specification with its own verdict.

  • Is there a free trial?

Your first screen is free: the verdict, whether each gate passed, and the gate that decided it. It needs a verified email address (we send a six-digit code), not a card. If you take a plan afterwards, the numbers behind that screen open on the report you already have; nothing runs again.

  • Is my idea private?

Yes. Your specification and your report are yours. A screen run here is counted in the published totals — how many ideas have been screened and how many passed — but it is never listed in the public ledger, and nothing we publish identifies you or your parameters.

  • What’s your refund policy?

A screen that fails to produce an answer is refunded automatically. A verdict of “not this one” is a delivered answer and is not refunded. A first subscription is refunded in full if you ask within 7 days without having spent a credit. The refund policy has the rest.

  • Do you guarantee profits?

No. Trading futures involves substantial risk of loss, and past performance is not indicative of future results. Every figure a screen reports is hypothetical, from historical simulation, and none of it is a forecast.

The fastest answer is a screen.

Describe your idea in plain English and get the verdict, and the gate that decided it, in the same conversation. Questions first? The desk answers them without spending anything.
