The weeks the gap changes

The US moves its clocks on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November. Hong Kong does not change its clocks, so the gap moves only when the US does.

  • From 1 Nov 2026 to 13 Mar 2027, Hong Kong is 13 hours ahead of New York: the US open lands at 22:30 instead of 21:30.

How futures gains are taxed

Hong Kong has no capital gains tax; profits tax applies only to a trade or business carried on in Hong Kong, on profits sourced there.

General information, not tax advice; rules turn on your own circumstances. Inland Revenue Department, checked October 12, 2026.

Testing an idea from Hong Kong

Everything runs in a browser and is priced in US dollars; your card issuer does the conversion. A screen reads the US tape, so a trader in Hong Kong gets the same tick history, the same gates and the same verdict as one in Chicago. A screen reads the regular session, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET (21:30 to 04:00 (next day) in Hong Kong), or, on the markets with 24-hour data, the whole Globex session.
